Here at the outlet of the Siletz River, the Oregon Coast
abounds with life. A colony of harbor seals lives within a
few hundred yards of the house. Whales are regularly
spotted from the living room couch or porch, and at certain
times of the year you can dip up a handful of sea water that
is brimming with krill. Seagulls, pelicans, cormorants, and
other sea birds drift along the bluff just outside the
window. Our ever-changing beach varies from a vast expanse
of sand in summer, (often with a fun sand cliff at the high
tide line) to fierce storms buffeting the foot of the stairs
in winter (that's how all that driftwood got there!)
Besides all that
Lincoln City has to offer, you can take a scenic day trip to
Newport and the Oregon Coast Aquarium (just 23 miles), or up
past Cascade Head to Pacific City or the Capes Route.
